About the enterprise

Bringing the route of large ships to the east coast of Latin America, this enterprise aims to revolutionize the logistics of containers, grains, general cargo, and oil and gas in Brazil.

A port with the capacity for new-generation ships with larger drafts, which will create new alternatives for long-haul routes and more cabotage operations, with lower costs and less carbon emissions.

#Infrastructure

The Port of Imetame has been designed based on a model that integrates smart technologies in its operations and is aligned with the best sustainability practices. Its concept is a complex of private terminals, modeled to serve the most diverse productive sectors, offering specialized shipping terminals for different types of cargo and services, such as containers, general cargo, grain, and oil & gas.

With a depth of 17m to 25m, the port will be able to receive long-haul vessels, both for containers (with ships of 366m in length) and vegetable bulk cargoes on Capesize ships, which currently do not operate in the ports of the Brazilian coast – and when they do, operate with limitations.

Construction

Initiated in June 2021, the construction of the first phase of the project is planned to be completed in 2025. The port will be capable to offer high productivity services with state-of-the-art equipment and systems, with the entire operational chain integrated.
